# Patrick Fürderer-Tosolini > Personal website and portfolio of Patrick Fürderer-Tosolini, an AI-native engineer who builds secure, understandable systems for the people who use them. Patrick FT is the abbreviated visual name used on the site. Since September 2026, Patrick works as a Forward Deployed AI Engineer at NiCE Cognigy. His path runs from print engineering and workflow automation through data science and software development to production AI systems. He values human-centred design, open source, local AI models, reliable architecture and technology that earns its place in a product. The website is available in German and English. [English version](https://patrickft.de/en/projects/somnara) - [Kolorio AI](https://patrickft.de/projects/kolorio-ai): An AI app that turns a colouring page, a mood and a palette into a consistent colour guide. [English version](https://patrickft.de/en/projects/kolorio-ai) - [Beats of Binary](https://patrickft.de/projects/beats-of-binary): An AI-native pop-punk project where original ideas and lyrics become releases through music, art direction and video. [English version](https://patrickft.de/en/projects/beats-of-binary) - [Lyricstapper](https://patrickft.de/projects/lyricstapper): A local-first tool for timing lyrics and exporting precise subtitles and videos. [English version](https://patrickft.de/en/projects/lyricstapper) - [spotpdf](https://patrickft.de/projects/spotpdf): A fail-closed CLI and Python API for safe spot-colour operations in vector PDFs. [English version](https://patrickft.de/en/projects/spotpdf) - [Typst tools](https://patrickft.de/projects/typst-tools): Three tools built around Typst for typography, automation and print production. [English version](https://patrickft.de/en/projects/typst-tools) - [Webwoven](https://patrickft.de/projects/webwoven): A competitive knowledge-graph game built on named, sourced relationships between real entities. [English version](https://patrickft.de/en/projects/webwoven) ## Journal - [Tools change quickly. Teams need transitions.](https://patrickft.de/notes/tools-change-quickly-teams-need-transitions) (2026-10-13): A new AI tool also changes handovers, responsibilities and habits. Introducing it well creates room to learn and makes its everyday value visible. [English version](https://patrickft.de/en/notes/tools-change-quickly-teams-need-transitions) - [The prompt is part of the attack surface.](https://patrickft.de/notes/the-prompt-is-part-of-the-attack-surface) (2026-10-06): When an AI system reads external content and uses tools, context becomes a security concern. What matters is which permissions that content can effectively acquire. [English version](https://patrickft.de/en/notes/the-prompt-is-part-of-the-attack-surface) - [Non-deterministic does not mean untestable.](https://patrickft.de/notes/non-deterministic-does-not-mean-untestable) (2026-09-29): AI responses can vary. Product expectations still need a stable yardstick: clear rules, meaningful test cases and a deliberate release decision. [English version](https://patrickft.de/en/notes/non-deterministic-does-not-mean-untestable) - [Trust is an architectural property.](https://patrickft.de/notes/trust-is-an-architectural-property) (2026-09-22): People who entrust a system with something personal trust a data flow, not a promise. For sensitive content, local processing is the foundation, not a bonus. [English version](https://patrickft.de/en/notes/trust-is-an-architectural-property) - [Machines are reading too.](https://patrickft.de/notes/machines-are-reading-too) (2026-09-15): Documentation has two audiences. This website is my experiment in writing for people and machines from the same source. [English version](https://patrickft.de/en/notes/machines-are-reading-too) - [What print teaches about AI systems.](https://patrickft.de/notes/what-print-teaches-about-ai-systems) (2026-09-08): In print, quality is secured before the run — with proofs, sign-offs and clear criteria. That is exactly the playbook AI systems need in operation. [English version](https://patrickft.de/en/notes/what-print-teaches-about-ai-systems) - [Let's hope they don't mess it up.](https://patrickft.de/notes/lets-hope-they-dont-mess-it-up) (2026-09-03): NVIDIA plans to acquire Hugging Face. It could strengthen open AI—if an open ecosystem does not become a controlled distribution channel. [English version](https://patrickft.de/en/notes/lets-hope-they-dont-mess-it-up) - [Between people and systems.](https://patrickft.de/notes/between-people-and-systems) (2026-09-01): On my first day as a Forward Deployed AI Engineer, this is not a field report but a look at the work I expect to encounter. [English version](https://patrickft.de/en/notes/between-people-and-systems) - [Prototypes can vibe. Products need engineering.](https://patrickft.de/notes/prototypes-can-vibe-products-need-engineering) (2026-08-30): AI makes the first working draft easy. Security, clarity and reliable operation determine whether it becomes a product. [English version](https://patrickft.de/en/notes/prototypes-can-vibe-products-need-engineering) - [Local models are not a fallback.](https://patrickft.de/notes/local-models-are-not-a-plan-b) (2026-08-26): Not every task needs the largest model. Local LLMs create choice, controllable costs and more democratic access to AI. [English version](https://patrickft.de/en/notes/local-models-are-not-a-plan-b) - [When attackers become agents.](https://patrickft.de/notes/when-attackers-become-agents) (2026-07-22): AI agents can accelerate both attack and defence. Accountability, guardrails and observability therefore matter more. [English version](https://patrickft.de/en/notes/when-attackers-become-agents) - [From hackathon to beta.](https://patrickft.de/notes/from-hackathon-to-beta) (2026-07-17): A deadline made Webwoven work. Real players revealed what it would take to turn it into a product. [English version](https://patrickft.de/en/notes/from-hackathon-to-beta) - [Good technology needs a good shell.](https://patrickft.de/notes/good-technology-needs-a-good-shell) (2026-07-13): A reliable core becomes technology people can actually use through good UX, DX and clear design. [English version](https://patrickft.de/en/notes/good-technology-needs-a-good-shell) - [AI makes expertise more valuable.](https://patrickft.de/notes/ai-makes-expertise-more-valuable) (2026-07-09): As AI accelerates generation, experience, evaluation and technical judgement become the decisive bottleneck. [English version](https://patrickft.de/en/notes/ai-makes-expertise-more-valuable) - [The limit lies outside the model.](https://patrickft.de/notes/the-limit-lies-outside-the-model) (2026-07-08): Power grids, cooling and efficiency help determine how far AI can actually scale. [English version](https://patrickft.de/en/notes/the-limit-lies-outside-the-model) - [Open source is infrastructure.](https://patrickft.de/notes/open-source-is-infrastructure) (2026-07-01): Openness is not a label to me, but the basis for understanding, independence and building together. [English version](https://patrickft.de/en/notes/open-source-is-infrastructure) - [Not the model. The workflow.](https://patrickft.de/notes/not-the-model-the-workflow) (2026-01-15): Models change quickly. Value lives in context, rules and a workflow built to survive the change. [English version](https://patrickft.de/en/notes/not-the-model-the-workflow) - [AI has to earn its place.](https://patrickft.de/notes/ai-has-to-earn-its-place) (2025-12-16): AI belongs only where it solves a real problem better and its value remains transparent. [English version](https://patrickft.de/en/notes/ai-has-to-earn-its-place) - [From a nightmare to a product.](https://patrickft.de/notes/from-a-nightmare-to-a-product) (2025-11-01): somnara began with a question on holiday and grew through real feedback into a system people trust with something personal.
